Terra Bruciata by Salvatore Battaglia

Artwork from my Sicilian collection, inspired by traditional Sicilian majolica tiles. Reference to the Sicilian cultural wonderland with inspiration stemming from Greek, Roman, Byzantine, Norman and Spanish heritages, Tiles are modelled with silicone while the golden beach was created by using 24k gold leaves. I am proud to be Sicilian, even though the land is associated and recognized as a “Mafia territory”. I have started a collaboration with an organization called “ADDIOPIZZO”, who fights against mafia protection/extortion money. A percantage of the sale price will be donated to the organization to support their activities.
